With many years experience of living and walking in this magnificent area of Spain, we can help and advise you on the endless opportunities that the Sierra Nevada's, las Alpujarras and other local areas have to offer. Whether your walking is a short valley stroll, or a high mountain trek, we have a widerange of self guided walks, guide books and maps of the area. Over the years, and thousands of kilometres of walking, we have built up a unique and ever expanding knowledge of the tracks and paths surrounding our area. The only thing you have to do is decide at what time of the year you want to visit, and in which of our properties you want to stay.

Winter is a favourite time of the year to visit for many people, especially if you want to escape the long grey damp days of Northern Europe. A typical winters day in Granada is bright blue sky with temperatures around 15 degrees. You may need a fleece, and the central heating on at night when those clear skies mean the temperatures plummet, but during the day, in the glorious sunshine, who knows what you will strip down to. On average we get 300 days of sunshine a year, and the other 65 aren't generally bad.
While you may not be able to walk the high mountain trails, due to the snow, the mid to lower routes offer a great opportunity to do some serious walking if you wish. The local ski resort, 1 hour away, normally opens late November to Easter.
November and December bring a respite from that relentless Christmas shopping that you have to endure in the UK.
January! Well you did promise yourself to get fit and shed those extra pounds you put on over Christmas. In February the Almond trees are in flower and the hills are covered in a wonderful mass of pink and white blossom. In March the Oranges are ready for picking, have you ever eaten an Orange straight off the tree, somehow they taste different from the ones in the supermarket.
